Que faire à Amboise

Activities in Amboise

Nestled in the heart of Touraine, on the banks of the royal river, Amboise arouses reverie and curiosity. For the record, its name comes from the Latin Ambacia, which means “between two waters” as Amboise is located between the Loire and the Amasse river. This privileged geographical location has shaped its landscape and the soul of its residents. Seduced by the magic of the place, Leonardo da Vinci lived not far away, at the manor of Clos Lucé, is where he spent the last years of his life.

You can explore Amboise from our 4-star campsite nearby, Le Domaine de Dugny.
