Located south of Montpellier, Lattes is  a popular harbour town that dates back to ancient times. Port Ariane is a popular place to eat out, with it's marina and sun-baked terraces and you can discover the ancient history at the archeological site Lattara-Museum Henri Prades.

    Near our campsite in Lattes, this museum invites visitors to delve into the history of the Mediterranean coast. The museum offers the archaeological journey, while its outdoor area presents vestiges of the ancient city.

    This site is located between the lagoons and the sansouïre, a wetland, on the banks of the Méjean lake. Trails guide you among storks (yes, you read that right!), and also pink flamingos and many other animals.

    Between Lattes and Montpellier, enjoy the banks of the Lez for beautiful walks. With family or friends, it's another way to visit Languedoc-Roussillon. Near Montpellier, in the Port Marianne district, we spotted the Lez market, an unmissable place to go out with many restaurants.

    The port is well worth a visit for its location and spectacle.  The port is near cycle paths, so easy access is available by bike. It is also the starting point for diving schools if you want to explore the sea.

25 minutes by car, you will find the pretty city of Montpellier and its special atmosphere. Do not miss the Place de la Comédie, the Opera, the esplanade where you can enjoy an ice cream. Finally, lose yourself in the alleys of the old town called the Ecusson.

The town has a particular architecture. Initiated in 1962 by the architect Jean Balladur, this seaside resort has obtained the “Heritage of the 20th century” label. You'll recognise its large pyramids, inspired by the Mayan pyramids of Mexico. The city has many green spaces and a nice stretch of beach to sunbathe.

Near our Le Lac des Rêves campsite, a little gem awaits you. Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone is a village with a beautiful cathedral, marshes and the pretty beach of Aresquiers. In summer, enjoy the famous “paillotes”, the beach bars.
